2019 and we begin with a big hail Mary from a Saints fan. A New Orleans attorney just filed a lawsuit to get the NFL to address a bad call that in all likelihood

caused the Saints the championship on Sunday. The play in question was a missed flag for past interference, a blunder that some

are calling the biggest officiating mistake in NFL history. Even the Rams player at the heart of

the controversy admits he quote got away with one.

That's why the lawyer wants the league to enforce Rule 17 section 2, article 1 in its own handbook

which allows for Commissioner Roger Giddell to take extreme action in the face of a grossly unfair result.

Giddell could make them replay the entire game, replay the game from that point in time, or give the win to the Saints.

In all likelihood, he won't do any of those.

A second attorney meantime is considering a similar lawsuit.

It's back to school day for 600,000 kids in Los Angeles.

After six days on the picket line, teachers reached a deal with the district to get everybody back to class. The key issues, bigger

raises, smaller classes, and more support staff like nurses and librarians. In the end, it looks

like the teachers won on all counts.

No such luck with negotiations to end the government's shutdown.

Tomorrow, the Senate will hold two votes on competing measures to end the stalemate, but both are expected to fail along party lines.

Meantime, the power play between the President and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the State of the Union speech goes on.

Mr. Trump and his team say they are moving ahead with plans to deliver the speech before a joint session

of Congress on Tuesday and would like to do a walkthrough.

Mrs Pelosi however holds most of the cards on this one.

She's in control of the House and there can be no joint session if she doesn't want one.
