And we begin with what is always one of our favorite winter stories, the possibility of falling iguanas in Florida.

The warning went up as temperatures went down over the weekend.

At particular risk were the reptiles on the southwest coast,

where the coldest air of the season moved in yesterday morning,

with wind chills dropping into the 30s. Iguanas are cold-blooded, live in trees, and thrive in heat.

When temps plummet, their bodies go rigid, their little feet, lose their

grip and down they go. And while visually dramatic, it's really just their body's way of

protecting them until temperatures climb back above 50 degrees.

So even though they may not look like it, they're actually still alive and will go back to

their normal iguana life as soon as their bodies reheat.
