Today is Thursday, January 16th, 2025. And we begin with a major

breakthrough in the 15-month-old war between Israel and Hamas. According to the Associated

press, the two sides are ironing out the final details of a deal that will pause fighting in Gaza

and lead to the gradual release of hostages held since the Middle East conflict began October 7, 2023.

The first phase of the agreement is also said to ramp up humanitarian aid entering Gaza,

with the second phase potentially ending the war altogether.

The Devils in the details, but if officially approved, the ceasefire could begin as early as Sunday.

Red dye number three is officially out.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced yesterday it has banned its use in food, beverages,

and medications more than 30 years after scientists discovered

links between the dye and disease. The additive gives products like candy and soda a bright

cherry-red color, but organizations, including the Center for Science in the Public Interest and

the Environmental Working Group, have tried for years to have it removed.

Some companies did so even before this ruling, and the state of California banned red dye number

three in the fall of 2023, as well as red dye number 40 and number three replacement that has
