Today is Wednesday, January 15th, 2025. And we begin with

President Biden, just hours from delivering his live farewell address to the nation. Tonight at

8 p.m. Eastern, with just five days left in his term, he'll sit down at his desk in the Oval

office, a location typically reserved for big news and significant events, to reflect

on his legacy and talk about the challenges still facing Americans. It's the President's fifth

and likely final Oval Office speech. The last time he spoke to the country from there, it was

July 24th when he explained why he was dropping out of the presidential race.

According to CBS News, the tradition of delivering a farewell address dates back to George Washington.

He didn't give it publicly, but it was published in newspapers across the country.

The Senate still reads Washington's farewell address out loud on Washington's birthday,

and has done so every year since

1893.

While President Biden gets ready to exit the White House, President-elect Trump is planning a grand

entrance. Country star Kerry Underwood has been tapped to sing America the Beautiful at his inauguration next Monday,

and the village people will sing their 1970s mega hit YMCA at another event.
