Summary

Matt Norlander's Chicago Bears lost a playoff game to the Philadelphia Eagles in the worst possible way, so he and Gary Parrish open this episode on that, with Norlander just trying to talk through the aftershock. But there's plenty of hoops to get to. First up is Nevada (11:34) losing its undefeated season. Then the guys touch on whether Virginia, Michigan or Houston will be the final unbeaten team (17:05). Bad news came down twice for Kansas (21:32) over the weekend, an Kentucky (28:43) didn't emerge with a win either. Meantime, Virginia Tech (35:03) is highlighted for the first time this season on the podcast. The guys close with a preview of Tuesday's big game (39:34): UNC at NC State.

basketball podcast. Matt Norlander is here with me and I imagine he's in a bad mood because

0:17.3

as you probably know, his Chicago badge is just awesome. Playoff game thanks to a joint

field goal attempt. Cody Parkie hit the upright final second. Seagulls went 16-15. I believe

0:27.1

it was the fifth time this season that Parkie had an upright Norlander. How you holding

up? You know what? I got to watch the game with my older son who really has no concept yet

of what. Listen, to be a fan is awesome. The Bears are my one outlet where I know our

0:48.4

audience. So many of them are especially devoted to particular college basketball team and

0:55.5

the Bears are that outlet for me. It had been eight years since they've been in a playoff

1:00.4

game. The last one they lost was actually even worse than this, but not by much, but

1:05.1

it was at home to the Packers when Jake Cutler was not available. People thought he would

1:11.8

have been available and Aaron Rogers got to the Super Bowl. So that was worse than this,

1:15.8

but this is this is brutal. I mean, this is the second worst playoff lost that I can

1:22.0

remember with the Bears. I mean, I'm not going to spend 20 minutes on this, but I'll take

1:26.9

15 if you'll give it to me. Yeah, man, listen, the Parkie stuff is rough, you know, apparently

1:35.9

he's got a guaranteed contract for next year. I want the man to have a good life to make

a great living and to be successful, but my God, I, you know, the game ends and I appreciate

1:47.7

all of the text messages that come flooding into my phone. Parish not included among them.

1:53.2

I simply got a you almost ready, but you did give me a good 20, 25 minute grace period. I do

1:57.8

appreciate it. I was just like in a like after basketball games coaches have a cooling off period.

2:04.0

I felt like you needed a cooling off period. I still need one. But no, this will be a fun

little podcast, but I'll say this. The season was way better than anyone expected. Even when
