Hey, what's going on guys? Welcome back to the Mike force podcast. It is your host Mike G.

0:16.4

I'm a little rundown right now. Just get back from the hunt and desert Utah. It's that

0:21.2

desert Utah, but it's in desert a hunting conservation easement basically in north east

0:27.7

Utah on the border with Evanston. Look, I have the opportunity to go out there with black

0:34.3

rifle coffee, thanks to Evan Hafer and the team at black rifle coffee for hooking up

0:38.4

with the tag and actually harvested the first bull elk of the season at desert, but also

0:45.8

the first bull elk maybe in the state. I don't know if that's a bragging right or not,

0:50.1

but I certainly was stoked about it. Rifle, 800 pound, 6 by 6, 320 to 330 if you're

0:58.5

tracking antlers, but I am certainly tracking meat, 200 to 300 pounds of meat. I'm talking

1:06.2

about like a six foot long back strap, the four quarters is going to be tons of steak,

1:11.5

tons of sausage for my company as well as sharing some of that with black rifle coffee staff.

1:16.7

Look, I was stoked for it. It's an amazing opportunity to get out and hunt anytime, but hunting

1:21.9

for me is a deliberate plan. It is very intentional. Like, I don't just wing it last minute and

1:29.5

go, oh, I'm going to go on a hunt. I'm thinking about this stuff six months out. So basically,

1:34.2

after hunting season's over, I'm thinking about what's the next opportunity to get out

1:37.9

there and hunt. So I have hunting lined up in the future, even in a few days, going to

1:44.4

hunt with Andy Stump, as well as tags in Iowa for white tail, also a couple tags for

1:50.8

pronghorn in Wyoming. This is not stopped for me because I'm thinking about filling the

1:56.3

freezer. I just finished off the last bit of mule deer that I have from last hunting season,

2:03.0

but my kids are getting bigger and their heads are getting bigger and they need to eat.

2:08.7

So it's certainly something that I want you to think about in self-reliance and living

2:12.1

your best or prepped life because you need to be cutting the embellical cord to the supply
