On the morning of November 6, 2011, 29-year-old Julia Buria-Coba of Redmond, Washington, wakes up to find her two-year-old son Sky Metawala feeling unwell.

After checking on Sky, Julia decides to take him to the hospital for treatment.

Julia loads Sky and his four-year-old sister Mylay into her car and begins the trip to Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue.

Along the way, Julia claims that her car runs out of gas and so Julia straps her son into his car seat, leaving him behind as she and her daughter walk the one-mile trip to a nearby gas station.

One hour later, Julia returns having received a ride from a friend and discovers her son missing.

Police are called, and during their investigation, Julia's story begins to crumble.

Faced with a lack of answers, police push harder for the truth, but are met with a stone wall of silence, and Julia's newly hired lawyer.

Sky Metawala's father Solomon works together with police to find the truth, while Julia maintains a cold distance from the investigation.

As police dig deeper, they continue to unravel more facts which begin to shift Julia from the position of victim to possible suspect.

Julia and Solomon were involved in a very bitter divorce and mediating an adjustment to their custody arrangement, which had granted full custody to Julia.

According to those involved, two weeks before Sky's disappearance, mediation was moving toward the possibility of visitation rights for Solomon,

a move which did not sit well with Julia.

In the recent past, Julia has struggled with mental health issues, going so far as to admit dreaming of murdering her children.

As the years move forward, and no trace of Sky can be found, Julia becomes the subject of many theories.

The police will openly admit that they believe Julia is lying to them, and her ex-husband Solomon will state that he believes whatever happened to Sky, Julia knows the truth.

In today's episode, I'll be covering a case that's a little outside of my usual template.

I typically try to stick to cases which haven't received a great deal of coverage, but the disappearance of Sky Metawala has been covered frequently.

I chose this case for two distinct reasons.

One being that it involves a missing child, and these cases haunt me more than others do.
