| 0:36.1 | And I'm super excited for this podcast today because today |
| 0:40.6 | we will be talking about self-discipline. And self-discipline is seriously one of my favorite |
| 0:48.3 | topics to talk about, not only because I think it's one of the most underrated qualities a person can have that typically we don't talk about, everybody's always like, oh, you need to think positive and you know, you need to have a good support system and all those things are true. |
| 1:03.7 | But truly, if you don't have self-discipline, then really you don't have anything. |
| 1:08.3 | And not only is it important to me just because I think it's underrated, |
| 1:13.0 | but it's important to me because self-discipline is something that I struggled with for years. |

| 1:41.4 | every day, I really want to share with you what it takes to build yourself discipline |
| 1:46.7 | if this is something that you're struggling with. |
| 1:49.5 | So to give you kind of a metaphor, we'll start with a little story I have about a friend. |
| 1:57.8 | So I have a friend who is just not good on following through on things. And obviously, |
| 2:06.0 | I didn't know this when I met her. We, we've only known each other maybe three years or so. And I |
| 2:11.5 | met her through a mutual friend of ours. And when I met her, I was really excited because I love meeting other ambitious go-getting women. And she was like, yes, I'm going to move to this city. I'm going to start this business. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do that. And I'm like, woo-hoo. Girl, you are my type of chick. Yes, I need to be around you more often. Like, I just love being around go- getting people who are doing different things. So, again, I didn't have, like, a track record with her because she was a new friend, but our mutual friend kind of saw what was happening and kind of gave me a little heads up and was like, hey, you know, I'm really glad that you're hitting it off with so-and-so, but, you know, maybe you don't want to get your hopes up because, you know, she tends to talk, but, you know, she doesn't make a whole lot of things happen. So, you know, just be careful in your dealings with her. So she gave me one of those kind of heads up. And I was like, oh, man, okay. |
| 3:10.9 | But I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. |
| 3:15.9 | So while I took what my mutual friend had to say, I just kind of tucked that in my back pocket. |
| 3:21.6 | You know, I still wanted to see my new friend and kind of believe her and see what would happen. |
