And we're back here on the Michigan Insider on the Big 1050 WTKA online at the big 1050.com. Sam is on family assignment this week. I got my guy, Ms. with me here on the other side of the glass. And last night, of course, Ms. like just about everybody else in America, we were watching the Super Bowl, which it was verging. It was close to, it was trying to live up to the old days of the subpar bowl. remember the subpar bowl days in the 80s when the NFC won every game by like 30-something points? And it was just dominant blowout by whether it was Washington or New York or Dallas or San Francisco or Chicago. All those teams just, it was a run, right? Dominating and sporting news got into a habit of calling it the subpar bowl because the Super Bowl would have actually been the NFC championship game

a bunch of those years if it even when that game was even that close.

But last night's game, it proved something that we already knew.

Ms. Tell me if this sounds familiar.

A stout running game, a timely passing game,

a smart physical defense that had six sacks and a score, a well-executed special teams, and they had AJ Barner. We know that that's a recipe for success to win a championship. I believe that is the case. That is a recipe. So AJ scored the first touchdown of the Super Bowl, so he is a national champion and a world champion. Bet. So there you go. Bet. So that's the key.

You want to win.

You got to get the ball to AJ Barner. All right. AJ had a nice game. It's fun to see him out there. I don't know if I've told this story recently. Maybe I did, but on the air. But he at the, in 23, the Saturday before the season started, or maybe it was a Sunday, but the weekend before the season started, they had the Champion Circle autograph signing event,

and a friend of mine gave me tickets so I could take Gracie to the event. And while we're waiting in line for it to start, there was a football player right across from Grace, pretty close, and he had like a mini, I think he had the mini football with him and not her, but he had this mini football, and he looks at her and he gets her attention, and they just start having a little catch. And it was AJ Barner, and he was super nice, really nice guy, chatted with him briefly at that moment. Obviously, he had been on campus for like a couple months, maybe, whatever it was. He hadn't been here very long. And key guy on that national championship team as a tight end, really nice kid, and really cool to see him have all the success that he has had in the National Football League because he's a really, he's a really talented tight end. And he was able to show that here in particular, his one year here in Ann Arbor. So that was really cool. Obviously also really cool to see what Mike McDonald's defense could do. The fact is both teams came into this game in the regular season.

They both had top four offenses and top four defenses.

And only one of those units really look like that.

Because, you know, the defense for New England was pretty good.

It wasn't great.

It was pretty good.

They obviously didn't get a lot of help from their offense.

They were all right, but they didn't look like the top four defense.

Their offense obviously didn't look like a top four offense.

And for that matter, even offensively for Seattle, like the passing game was all right. Sam Darnel was all right. He wasn't great. He was all right. Timely passing. That's my point. timely passing is what it's really all about.

Kenneth Walker is really good in the run game on that side of the ball for Seattle.

But the Seattle defense is the unit that of all of those four units,

the two offensive and the two defense that showed up and showed out.
