So we are wrapping up conference spring meeting weeks.

We've already had obviously the Big 10 in the ACC.

This week is the SEC and the Big 12.

And so we've heard a lot from the SEC and not a bunch from the Big 12, but yesterday the

Big 12 conference coaches unanimously agreed that their preference would be for a 2014

college football playoff.

Now, as we know what the ACC and the Big 12 want doesn't really matter because they don't

really have a whole lot of say in this.

It comes down to what the SEC and the Big 10 want.

But it cracks me up.

And former Michigan coach who's now in the Big 12 had a comment yesterday that's hilarious. And it's me up. And former Michigan coach, who's now in the Big 12, had a comment yesterday that's hilarious.

And it's very telling on behalf of coaches everywhere, pretty much.

We've had this conversation.

And Rich Rodriguez is just the next to say the quiet part out loud and not quite say it all the way through.

But you know where they're going with this one.

So the Big 12 coaches, as I said, they voted unanimously yesterday that their preferences for a 2014 playoff. Well, obviously that's the case. Now, I would say that would be the case no matter what for the Big 12 anyway based on last year alone because last year, Texas Tech made the playoff as the only team from the Big 12 and the 12 team playoff. If it was a 24 team playoff, they would have had five

playoff teams. They had that many more teams. And Steve Clark went through all

the numbers. They would have that many more playoff teams if you had

13 through 24 also make the playoffs. And so, of course,

coaches want to say they made the playoffs, which is the point of why the coaches vote the way that they do. We've talked about this. Not every coach is so, you know, honest. Mario Cristobo doesn't want it. Obviously, he was the benefactor of what happened last year, but he doesn't want it. We heard from a few other coaches that have been very, you know, whether they said it jokingly or not. We heard what down at Texas A&M.

He's like, why not make it 40? So we can keep our jobs. That's what this is about. So at least there's some honesty there. Rich Rodriguez says they should ask coaches for more opinions on what's best for college football. We voted and it was unanimous.
