We spent a lot of time on this show talking about hearing from, you know, kind of go through coach speak or maybe it's conference commissioners speak or league commissioners speak and trying to maybe parse their words and see if they really mean what they mean and or sometimes just know that they're flat out lying through their teeth or we like to call it gamesmanship a lot of the times.

And sometimes you just watch someone speaking.

You think that they believe what they're saying and you have no idea how they believe what they're saying.

That happened with an interview that Adam Silver gave a couple days ago on the Pat Mackeb show.

He made a comment.

He was asked about the flopping in the league because it's widespread.

It is abhorrent.

It's an eyesore.

It's terrible for the game.

And it's become a major, major, major talking point.

When you have James Harden getting to the conference finals at its front and center

and you see the difference between him when he's being guarded, kicking his

legs out on a shot, or when he's not being guarded and he just barely jumps his, moves his feet at all. Or when someone runs by him, you know, moves by him and he flails his head, even though he doesn't get touched, right? And then, of course, the other free throw merchant that's getting a lot of attention in the postseason. and we talked about him already SGA

because, and he's the MVP

of the league. He's a great player. He doesn't need to be a free throw merchant. He would generate a lot of those free throws on his own. Just by being an attacking player. But we've all seen it. We watched the Pistons series, the series against Cleveland and how poorly it was officiated.

We've seen the NBA officials and know what it looks like.

And so Adam Silver in the interview, he praised his officials and said his official, the

officiating has been terrific.

And he said, quote, even as I sit in the stands at games, players may be falling down. Players may be reacting to a call. But to me, if they're not fooling the referees, it's okay. Players are taught to sell calls these days. All right. First of all, they are fooling the referees because the referees are idiots. Okay. And they make terrible calls all the time because they are being fooled. So the fact that you can say, if they're not fooling the referees, it's okay. Because they are fooling the referees. So apparently it's actually not okay because they are fooling the referees. But everything about this is terrible. You're the commissioner of the league. It is your job to protect the league. And you should safeguard the league and the integrity of the league. It is your job to protect the league.
