So yesterday I was driving back from South Bend and I was thinking about the men's games were, the first games were obviously not really close.

So really not paying a whole lot of attention to that.

Just kind of drive it along.

And I was thinking about Michigan's path, the men's path to now would be the path to the

final four with two more games to get there, being in the in the suite 16.

And I thought back to 1992.

And the reason I thought about this that year, one is that Michigan was not a highly,

a super high seed that year.

They were a sixth seed.

This year, of course, Michigan is a five seed.

And then I was thinking about that match that year because they had to go through a rival

in the regional final.

And that would be the case this year as well.

If you recall back in 1992, Ohio State was the number one seed in the southeast

regional in Lexington, Kentucky. Michigan was the sixth seed. The two seed was Oklahoma State

and Michigan played Oklahoma State in the Sweet 16 and beat them 75, 72. And Ohio State being the

one seed played North Carolina, the four seed and beat them 80 to 73. Michigan of the six seed, then in overtime, beat Ohio State in the one seed played North Carolina, the four seed and beat them 80 to 73.

Michigan of the sixth seed, then in overtime beat Ohio State in the regional final 75-71.

So the Fav-5 got their revenge because if you recall, earlier that season in early February, Ohio State beat Michigan at Chrysler by 10.

And then a month later in early March, Michigan went to Ohio State, and they lost by 11, 7766.

So it feels like there are some similarities in how the season played out in those results against your rival then in 1992.
