Lamar Morgan meeting with the media yesterday now here on the Michigan Insider on the Big 1050 WTK.

We've seen Rod warm up the last two weeks but hasn't gotten the game action yet. How are you guys feeling about him and what's the plan moving forward? Yeah, I'm excited for Rod. He's been working really hard. He's trying to get a lot of value at practice, trying to get all the one-on-ones, team reps and stuff like that.

I think him and the medical team and his family. He's trying to get a lot of value at practice, trying to get all the one-on-ones, team reps and stuff like that.

I think him and the medical team and his family have a good plan, and we're just trying to support him when he's ready.

I think he's trending in the right direction, being fiscal running.

His velocity is really good at practice reps and stuff like that.

So I think he's trending.

I know our team and his teammates are excited to get him back really soon all right johnny if if and when rod does come back i guess what do you see is the the greatest asset he brings me being great safety just coach on the field or the emotional lift that could get to the team Yeah, I think a kid like him or, you know, a young man like him, I just think it's a calming factor. You know, I think when you play safety, you know, just like Mike linebacker, like how Ernie does, guys like to be on the field with you because they know you know what's going on in the communication. You know, he's like a coach on the field. So I just think you just get an extra guy without being an extra green dot on the field that's really a leader, a great communicator, a tough kid. I just think you get a leader and a role model. And I think a lot of our guys see now he has battled back from the injuries, had, did everything he did right, you know, trying to get back.

And I just think he has a lot of respect.

So I just think he can push guys.

Sometimes coaches do it all the time.

And I think now you just gain an extra guy on the field that can push his teammates by the way he acts and the way he responds to adversity or good or bad plays. I just think he's, you know, kind of what you think about as a Michigan Wolverine defensive back here. Even without him, it seems like the safety play has been pretty good this season. I guess how pleased are you with that and then the unit as a whole? Yeah, you know, I always try to look at the big picture and I think we have a lot of young guys that are starting, even though they might be in the program for a year or two. So, you know, there's going to be hiccups here and there. It's not going to be perfect. But I do think the effort is there. I think the care factor is high.
