Yesterday we heard from a couple of Michigan assistant coaches coming up in a little bit Michigan defensive backs coach Lamar Morgan.

But right now Michigan offensive line coach Grant Newsom who met with the media yesterday, now here on the Michigan insider on the Big 1050 WTK. How did Jake play in his first start? And then how do you weigh

like if he's good enough to start even if Brady's healthy or if a phobia is, you know,

in that mix, how do you kind of weigh all that?

Yeah, Jake played really well. You know, he, he graded out really well. Phil felt that, you know, live in game that he was playing well, and, you know, the film confirmed it. So it's a credit to him. And, you know, I get it with Central Michigan. It wasn't, you know, the national championship, but still to be able to have

that maturity and be able to handle that and its first real kind of live offensive game action was really happy with him, really impressed. And it's a great thing about having depth is that, you know, when those guys are back, you know, it's a, it's a competition. So, you know, it's how, you know, how is Jake played in games, how his practice look.

And, you know, Coach Moore always says it,

you know, you're going to need eight, nine, ten guys.

And we, you know, Coach Moore always says it, you know,

you're going to need eight, nine, ten guys. And we, you know, unfortunately, they've already proven that some this year. So, no, I mean, it's very much, you know, you've got to earn your spot back. It's not just a guarantee that, you know, because you were the starter to start the season, No, you get your spot back.

So how much has Brady been able to do? you know, because you were the starter to start to season it, you get your spot back.

So how much has Brady been able to do this week and when do you hope to settle on a starter for a right guard spot?

Sure.

So obviously, Biff said it on, you know, on Monday, but, you know, both those guys are working

through, both GEO and Brady are working through, you know, lower body guys are working through, both Gio and Brady are working

through, you know, lower body injuries. You know, Brady a little farther ahead than Gio is.

We're hopeful that, you know, we'll have them both back for this weekend, but, you know, just

like you guys all kind of know more as the week progresses and when that injury report comes out.
