Welcome back to The Michigan Insider here on the Big 1050WTKA online at the big 1050.com. So a couple of days ago, the Michigan men's basketball program announced a bunch of more signings, right? What's the three players from the transfer portal and a couple of new signies for as freshmen to add to the signies that were already coming in the four players in the freshman class that were already coming in. And so with all those players announced, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're dumb. but with all those players announced.

We had a chance to sit down with Dusty May yesterday for a media conversation. So he sat down for a long time. We had a lot to hear from Dusty May. So let's get to that now. Here is Dusty May meeting with the media yesterday. Now here on the Michigan Insider on the Big 1050 WTCA.

Jake, Singler, Queens, and Brew. You took a lot of freshmen this year compared to the last two seasons. You just talked about what went into the decision of going with so many freshmen in a class like this and being able to mix that with the strong transcript class. We brought in again. The biggest component was the expansion of rosters. We have 15 spots now, and we thought this is a great opportunity to maybe take a flyer on a guy or two that we feel like will be really, really good in a couple years, and develop them, pour into them

It varies month to month year to year and you know sometimes you do it and you think,

Other times you think, wow, we still have a gaping hole.

I wish we had another spot open or whatever the case.

But typically with freshmen, one of them will surprise us with how good he is.

One will surprise us with these not quite as advanced as we thought,

and the rest of them are going to be probably exactly what we thought.

That's typically the rule of thumb, the heuristics when it comes to recruiting freshmen.
