| 0:00.0 | Welcome back to the Michigan insider here on the Big 1050WTK online at the Big 1050.com. So portal madness is not over because there's got a lot of guys that need to come and players. I shouldn't say guys because it's men's and women's basketball portal that I'm talking about here. But there are players on the men's and women's side, both that need to come out of the portal. But the portals are now closed. Monday night at midnight the women's portal closed |
| 0:21.9 | Tuesday so last night into this morning at midnight the women's uh the men's portal closed |
| 0:25.4 | now I guess you could still have some players trickling in publicly because they have to |
| 0:32.3 | go things have to go through I guess compliance to make sure things are all proper as they go |
| 0:35.9 | into the portal but everything is pretty much should be set at this stage. You should not be losing any more players. Doesn't mean you'll be gaining any more players. But around the country now, you can at least have this. Coaches can breathe the sigh of relief if they were worried about losing any players because they are, it's not going to be the case. So on the women's side of things, it was great to see a post yesterday from Michigan |
| 0:57.1 | women's basketball last night with a picture of all the returning players, which everybody |
| 1:02.4 | except for McKenzie Mathurne who hit the transfer portal. |
| 1:06.8 | And then Alyssa Crockett and Brooke Quarles Daniels who graduated, everybody else is coming |
| 1:10.6 | back. And so it says, run it back. You've got Olivia Olson, Mila Holloway and Silas Swords in the front of the graphic. But you've also got the remainder of the key players, Kendall Dudley and Ashley Sofokanek and Teil de Foss. Macy Brown, who's going to most likely sounds like it's going to miss the season with her injury. But she's a big part of the squad still. And then, of course, you have Sierra Byers, Jess Fields, and Ayana Dunbar. So those other members of the roster, the bottom part of the roster as far as the players don't play a lot. AD, she's the last player to come into games when the games are no longer in doubt. She gets a chance to play late in the game. Sierra Byers hoping coming off the injury that she can provide a little bit more size in the post and be, you're not asking her to give you 30 minutes a game, but can she give you five or 10 minutes a game? We'll see what her steps and progress go. It looks like from one year to the next same thing with Jess Fields. What kind of progress can she make coming off of her freshman season? We know that Michigan has already gone into the transfer portal to bring in another big guard in the Olivia Olson model. Ogden from Stanford. Will there be anybody else coming in through the portal? Would she look for a little bit more size? You have Cosgrove, a wing, and Fope, I.O coming in. |
| 2:20.2 | She's the big that's going to be a freshman on campus coming up this summer. |
| 2:23.6 | So are you going to add one more, or are you going to, |
| 2:28.3 | is it going to kind of sit stamp hat? |
| 2:31.2 | But the roster, it was great to see that graphic yesterday to see the Michigan |
| 2:36.0 | women's basketball team promoting the fact that pretty much the entire squad. |
| 2:40.7 | They lost one player to the transfer portal. |
| 2:43.0 | Otherwise, everybody else is just natural, either attrition or moving to the next grade, |
| 2:47.0 | to the next class. |
| 2:48.0 | And that's pretty good stuff for KBA. |
| 2:51.4 | You think about that sophomore class that's going to become a junior class. |
| 2:54.1 | They started as five as freshmen. |
| 2:56.5 | They added Kendall Dudley in the, you know, before last season. |
| 3:00.0 | They grew to six and all six are sticking together. |
