And of course, the first thing that you've got to do to build a roster in football is look in the trenches.

And along the offensive line in particular, Michigan retained just about everybody.

They brought an additional player or two, and they are really hitting it along the offensive line,

which should make no surprise because Jim Harding, as the offensive line coach,

one of the best in the business.

And he, and so guys obviously want to play for him and uh they

only lost what one guy in the portal and tie heywood was that about it everybody else that went

in the portal they came back out and they continued to uh to stock up on the trenches they're looking

on trying to work on doing that on the defensive side of the ball as well but in addition addition to the trenches, and we can get into the conversation about skill position and this, that and the other.

One of the issues that we talked a lot about over the course of the season last year for the Michigan football team

was that they really struggled with special teams.

And the first change was that Michigan had made the change even prior to the main coaching change

and when everything unfolded,

Michigan was already making a change at special teams coordinator,

and Kerry Coombs had been brought in, and he was here for, what, two days,

before all heck broke loose within the football program and the coaching situation,

but he was retained.

And since he's been retained, while they did lose the kicker in the class of 2026 to the withdrew from the,

that withdrew his national letter of intent and eventually ended up at Notre Dame,

the Wolverines had gone into the portal, and they've gotten through the portal,

they've gotten a punter.
