We continue our series of catching you up with assistant coaches from down in Allen Park.

Over the last few days, we've been on the offensive side of the ball.

We now shift gears to the defensive side of the ball.

We're going to start things off with defensive coordinator, new defensive coordinator for the Lions, Kelvin Shepard.

How's it's going so far?

It's been outstanding. I couldn't ask for a better start thus far.

Still kind of early in the process.

But, I mean, having a staff, I told you guys this to come.

I was very fortunate in my first year in this role at this job to have the staff that I have backing me and outside of me.

It definitely makes this a lot smoother transition.

And then to top that off now with the guys coming in and the guys hearing it, seeing it, doing it, believing in it,

and then getting their feedback.

It's all been very positive this far.

What are the non-negotiable for playing in a Calvin-Chepper defense?

Like, what does your defense have to be about?

What are those guys have to be about?

What is non-negotiable?

Yeah, I told them the first thing first, you get down to the A's, and what I mean with

the A's, it starts with your assignment.

You have to know what to do.

It's your alignment.
