It's not revisionist history on this show to say we, the game last night did not really matter.

Obviously, the result doesn't matter at all.

But that there's not a lot.

But the Lions preseason game is not underway. The NFL gets their preseason underway their earliest start time in 25 years. It was cool to see football back on TV. It was fun to see Toriko and Collinsworth back in the booth. It means football season is kind of here. Although, again, we said the game isn't, there's no significance to the game. There's no, it's not meaningful. But there were things you could get out of the game. And that is not the game or the start that the Lions wanted, having three turnovers in the first quarter alone. Again, I know it's a meaningless preseason game, but wow, that's not the way you want to start. You give a guy a shot on kickoff return and he fumbles it away the first time he touches the ball. You're trying to see which of the two backup quarterbacks is going to be a more viable option as your top backup quarterback. And a guy throws a couple of interceptions early in the game. Yeah, not exactly what you wanted. How about that we had a review on the very first play of the preseason? I don't think it needed even be a review, but that's a, but that's besides the point. I kind of, as I said this yesterday, it's kind of like watching the NBA summer league. Key guys like, say, Hampton, the running back for the charges. He had a few snaps early in the game and then he was done. But most of the guys that are playing in the game last night are fighting for opportunities, not even fighting for jobs. They are fighting for opportunities for the, to maybe get a job. they're just fighting for those opportunities right now

now if you stand out in a game like that you have a shot if you fumble the ball if you drop a

really good pass a on second and long which happened for the lines in the game last night it does

get i don't say it's harder for you to earn to win a job but it definitely is putting more more things in front of

you that makes it that you have to overcome some things from the precincts are very telling

Kyle Allen seems to be kind of a turnover machine that seems to be pretty telling

uh Sam wanted to see some Tesla last night and obviously it's a great story.

And he was pretty good.

He had a few touches and he looked like he has, you know, has something that he can show and he's got something to do.

Now, Stuart might have fumbled the very opening kickoff, but he's really a defensive player.

He's really a linebacker.

You have to love his motor.

Those are the kind of things that you can see in the game last night.

Although, I guess my biggest takeaway from the game away last night is that there's no more

tension, buildup moment as the chain gang is being, the chains are being brought out.
