Summary

سال 53 بود که کتاب فاجعه سرخپوستان امریکا منتشر شد. نام دیگر این کتاب «دلم را در ونددنی به خاک بسپار» است. ونددنی جایی است منتهی به رودخانه که به قتلگاه سرخپوستان تبدیل شد. این کتاب یکی از کامل‌ترین آثار درباره قساوت سفیدپوستان و فاتحان سرزمینی است که کریستف کلمب بومیانش را «ایندیوس» نامید

نویسنده اثر نخواست همان چیزی که دستگاه‌های تبلیغاتی و سیاستمداران مدام بر آن تاکید می‌کنند باز روایت کند، یعنی سفیدپوستانی مهربان که سرخپوستان را به سوی مدرنیته سوق می‌دهند. او با تکیه به اسناد و نوشته‌های روزنامه‌نگاران، اعترافات روسای قبایل سرخپوست و خواندن و تحلیل گزارش‌هایی که در بایگانی سنای آمریکا نگهداری می‌شود، این اثر را نوشت
