The 1979 on a Caribbean island known as Matul a woman is attacked in her home by a grotesque maggot-covered

undead creature desperately trying to break in. As the woman tries to barricade herself inside, its monstrous rotting arm punches its

After the success of both John Carpenter's Halloween and George Romero's Dawn of the Dead in 1978,

it was clear that audiences were yearning for increasingly slockey visceral thrills and

studios began to take note. But one particularly grotesque zombie movie marketed as a sequel to Dawn of the Dead,

made by Italian director Lucio Fulci, took the level of Schlock and Gore to a whole new level.

It both disgusted and thrilled audiences around the world.

It got itself banned in the UK and became one of the most infamous video
