Zikira Camp was born on November 18, 2001 in Starkville, Mississippi to Jelanda Camp.

And at the time, she joined her older brother named Tyler, who Jelanda remembers, was incredibly protective of her off the bat.

With Jelanda being a single mother, the three of them were very close. And when the kids were still young, the family left Mississippi and relocated to the Austin, Texas area,

where Zikira really seemed to thrive. And we were fortunate enough to speak with Jelanda and be able to ask her some questions.

And she spoke glowingly about her daughter, saying, quote, when she came into this world, she was lovable.

Jelanda remembers that she knew that she was pregnant before it was even showing up on tests, and she had to convince her doctor to give her an ultrasound.

Jelanda said that that was typical for her daughter, who always made her presence known.

Saying, quote, that's just the kind of person Zikira was.

Her effervescent personality and kind soul carried with her through childhood and into young adulthood.
