So let me time stamp things here. It's Thursday afternoon, September September 26 so this has been pretty much the last

what I the last planned what I call Foreign Policy Week of the presidential

campaign one of it is this is UN General Assembly week

which means the world leaders are here, you've Netanyahu flew in to speak to the UN,

Zelenski's been touring the country. Some Republicans think he's been acting as a surrogate

for Democrats by visiting a munitions factory in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

And I am going to spend a lion's share this podcast on sort of where do we go from here on Ukraine, the difference between a Trump victory, Harris victory, got a terrific guest for that.

Kurt Volker who was a former envoy to Ukraine

during the Trump years, if you will,

but he's sort of been a foreign policy veteran

of the Republican administration's very much more in the

internationalist wing as you will hear during our conversation. But look I mean let's be

frank here this wasn't a good week for Zelensky if Trump ends up

winning for what you know one reason or another both Trump and JD Vance see going

after you Zolensky publicly is potentially good politics for them or

certainly not bad politics for them on that front so it will be here I'll be

curious to see though if it's more than just reacting to the event in Pennsylvania

which did seem to rub some Republicans the wrong way perhaps the ambassador should have made sure Mitch McConnell was there or

something like that made sure it was a bipartisan crew but but we'll set that aside

the other big event of the week was Kamala Harris unveiling.

Her economic philosophy is probably the best way to describe it
