Summary

President Zelensky is facing a challenging time. At home, his rule is becoming increasingly autocratic says the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitaly Klitckhko, and his Commander in Chief, General Zaluzhny, has also been openly critical.

As he heads to the US to secure a much needed funding package worth $61billion, Victoria and Vitaly talk to Lara Seligman, Pentagon Correspondent for Politico, and Samantha de Bendern from the think tank Chatham House, who is in Kyiv, to shed some light on the challenges facing President Zelensky.

Hello, it's 657 days since Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On today's episode, we're going to be looking at the challenges facing Ukraine's president,

Zelensky, and there are many of them from falling approval ratings and reports of tension

with the guy in charge of the Ukrainian military operation to President Zelensky's fight to

But before we get started, we must talk about the fact that President Putin's main political

rival, Alexei Navalny, who's been in prison, as you know, for the last three years, appears

to have completely disappeared, Vitaly.

What is going on?

It's been a week since he was last able to speak to his defence team, to his lawyers,

and simply put, nobody knows where he is, worryingly, there are two possible options.

Option one is that he is in transit from the prison where he was held.

He's not there anymore, apparently.

So it's possible that he is being taken somewhere else.

Option two is that he is possibly dead.

What's happened in Russia before where prisoners went missing, prisoners who have upset the

man in charge with the reporter, they went missing and then they were discovered dead,

such as Sergei Magnitsky, the whistle blowing lawyer.

And Alexei Navalny, he had complained of mistreatment in prison, of health problems.

He was very frequently put in solitary confinement.

And now it's possible that he's got much worse.
