Okay, this is Beth. Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people the Word

of God. We base our ministry on Hebrews 4-12 that tells us that the Word is alive and

active. We pray this message is going to serve you in some way today and that God is

Now, Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. I'm not going

to say it, but you can't believe what some of the commentators said were covering him.

I mean, just the word that is used for filthy here is the strongest word that is ever used

for any kind of defilement that could possibly be on a person. So this shows us that as

far as the imagination could go in being defiled, that that is one that God can restore because

this is an extremely strong word in the Hebrew language. Take office filthy clothes and

then he said to Joshua, see, I have taken away your sin and I will put rich garments on

you. And then I said, put a clean turban on his head. This is interesting here. So it says

so they put a clean turban on his head and clothed them while the angel of the Lord stood

by. And it stood by, man, that he was standing over it, presiding over it. I want you to see

the notation of the clean turban that was placed on his head because it happens to be a different

word than what we would have seen way back when you and I studied Exodus 28.4. When we first

saw the introduction that there would be a turban a wrap around on his head. And we remember

because we talked about the engraving, the plate with the engraving on the head. And what

does the engraving say? Holy to the Lord right on his head. And so he's putting a different

turban on him this time. And when he puts this turban on him, it's a different Hebrew word.

It's still the same idea. There are many similarities behind it, but commentators will pull

out the difference between the two. I'm going to quote to you out of the word biblical commentary.
