It's not exactly the most comfortable situations and it's hard for me to even go through it and

explain it, explain the emotion because you see whenever you're having a battalion worth of

Marines, a battalion worth of soldiers, a squadron full of airmen or a squadron full of sailors,

that it's a very, very difficult process. You see the pain on the face of the enlisted member,

you see the pain of responsibility from the officer and it's a very difficult thing.

Connor, welcome to zero block 30, my friend. It's a tough week for us as Memorial Day,

but we're going to talk about the emotional stuff first and then we're going to get into some

things that really honor those who laid their life down on the line. There you go, buddy.

I'm doing well. There's a fantastic job and I think it's interesting for our listeners to hear

one of the many traditions that we have in the military and that is calling roll call.

You remember being in formation and the silence when those names are being called is deafening.

No one would dare step out of formation, utter even a sneeze. It's just the respect level

when you have that ceremony to discuss your phone, brothers and sisters. It's a very powerful,

it's a moving thing. I think that was a great job by you. Let our listeners know about one of

Whenever you have these type of moments, there's a difference between a forward,

when I say forward, I mean deployed. If you're in Iraq or in Afghanistan,

there's a difference between the forward ceremony that you'll have in the one that happens in

Gerson. You'll do the roll call in both places. Whenever you're actually there and you are with a

member that lost their life, the weight that it takes is so different because you know that whenever
