All right, so before we get started with the episode today, I want to be honest with

the listener. I know I usually say that as a joke, but I do think because of the nature of this

podcast being a military show, we have a sort of sense of responsibility to be open and we're

going through things that are painful. And today was one of those days for me. When I woke up

this morning, I had seen a text that one of my friends from from Okinawa had killed himself.

And I am now, let's see, I'm sitting, I'm eight years removed from being on active duty.

And I thought that there would be a day eventually when this type of news stopped coming from

people that I served with like that people would gotten treatment that people were doing well.

And that's clearly not the case. It's still a struggle. It's still a daily struggle that I know

so many veterans are going through and not just veterans, people who listen to the show civilians.

You guys have your problems too, like PTSD, post-traumatic stress is not something that's

just eliminated in military and scope. It could be, it could be anywhere from any walk of life.

But having these folks that I know served and served honorably and just thinking about,

it's been going through my head just the funny moments that I had with the guy who lost his life

this weekend. It's been a tough morning. So throughout this episode, I might seem off a little bit.

I don't even know if you were kind of really picked up on it, but my brain, whenever we finished,

my brain isn't where it normally is. And that's because it's somewhere else today.

Yeah, I noticed during the show I could tell something wasn't right, but

this is one of those things that I'm so sorry that this happened, but I'm

again, I'm glad that you have the strength to talk about it because so many people listening
