Welcome back to I'm interested and Mike Greenberg and the basketball season is upon us and it is my

delight this week to have as my guest one of the smartest and most interesting voices in the basketball universe in 2018 a voice

that 20 years ago no one would have listened to and now everyone is listening to and that is

my friend Zach Lowe who has been a regular contributor on our show on

get up on the mornings on ESP and of course it was own basketball podcast is one of the

most popular and influential that we have at ESPN and it's just such an interesting time I think in the

basketball world so a perfect time to have this conversation so Zach first

of all thanks a million for coming down here and doing this today my pleasure all right

right so the season is upon us so let us start with this what is it that you

think could happen this year that when it is over we will say that the 2018-2019 Golden State Warriors

were the greatest basketball team of all time. What could happen? Yes. They win

easily and that makes three peat four out of five and it's just I mean

you want to look at the Celtics and say well they're so well constructed to beat the

warriors and the Raptors can play all these crazy small ball lineups and they have the

greatest perimeter defender since Prime Scotty Pippin and then you're like man the

warriors have Steph Curry and Kevin Durant on the same team plus two other all

NBA players. It's just their star power is crazy and like that's before you talk

about cousins like I haven't even factored in cousins and what he brings to their

team so it's going to be interesting because I don't think they're going to go,

they'll never play with the intensity that they did in 2016 when they won 73 games.

I think they'll play harder than they did last year when they kind of

lays through the season but not that hard so I don't know that but that could
