This time Wayne was determined to avoid puzzlement at the mention of his name.

When Sally picked up the phone he said,

Sally, hi, it's Wayne Dolan from the Survivor Meetings.

Wayne?

Said Sally, sounding just as puzzled as everyone else had been.

Yeah, Wayne, you know, lived in the flat under Lucy and Wellington Street.

Yeah, I know who you are, I'm just surprised to hear from you is something wrong?

No no I just he sighed all right I'll get to the point. I'm organizing a meeting tomorrow, and I'm phoning to invite you.

A survivor meeting?

Yeah. But why? I thought we'd worked all that out, And as I recall you didn't have much of anything to work out anyway.

You only came for the Biscuits. You actually said that at the last meeting.

What? Wayne scoffed. Blimely, Sala, wasn't serious. That was a joke, weren't it? I mean, it's not like I can't buy a packet of biscuits on my own, is it? I don't need my mum to buy a packet of hobnobbs.

I'm only repeating what you said Wayne.

Yeah, well I was joking, really. I've got a lot out of their meetings. They helped me in ways, in ways I didn't even

know I needed.

How do you mean? Well, I didn't even know that I'd needed them afterwards when I realized I was feeling better in myself like about all that happened with Brian McBride

made me realize how lucky I was to be alive, you know?

Well, that's good. I'm glad you got something meaningful from them.
