Summary

Welcome to the first Go + Tell Gals podcast episode of 2022! This one's got a few moving parts, but hang through it - we think it's very helpful.

Please listen to our announcement right at the beginning. Kennesha is obediently stepping into something new and beautiful that God has asked her to, which means stepping down as a co-host from the podcast. We're so grateful for how she has led powerful, engaging conversations over the past 9 months and shifted this podcast (and all of GATG) for the better. She's accessing her God-given desire and is creating space for what He has called her to - and nothing could be more on-brand or beautifully connected to GATG than that. Join us in rallying around our friend Kennesha and praying for her as she moves in obedience. Follow along with her on Instagram to keep up with what's next.

Now, into the episode - a coaching session from Jess and a Q+A to help start our year off on the right foot. We need a more comprehensive, intentional, spiritually-awake, and intelligent plan to move into this year with victory, compassion, gentleness, and tenacity. We could just hide our head under the pillow and say, “I can’t even”, but that is not what this season is begging of women on mission. Your life, your God-given gifts, your community, and your relationship with God are worth more than a flippant start to this year. These all deserve and require reflection and intention.

The good news: God is mighty in us. He generously gives wisdom to His daughters, and He has placed us where we’re at - even in this year, on purpose, for the good of others and the glory of God. So in this episode, we’re going to hold all of the tension - with all of the hope. Honestly, we're grateful that it’s not commonplace to start a year pretending like it’s always going to be our best year yet.

Your year matters. Let's act like it, and do/ask these 4 things:

  1. Go back to the last thing God told you to do.
  2. What is not making you stronger?
  3. How can you adjust your pace, your plan, your perception of fruit and still be obedient to what God has called you to?
  4. Insert delight + abundance.

Hello, friends. It's Jess and Kanisha here. And we have a very important announcement to make here at the top of this podcast episode, but really it's just a peek

0:21.9

behind the curtain.

0:22.7

So Kinesha and I were both just searching our emails.

0:25.3

We were trying to find this email I wrote that was either it was either the end of 2020 or

0:29.9

the very beginning of 2021.

0:32.5

And I think it might have been December 2020, but we can't find it.

0:37.7

So, you know, it doesn't matter.

0:41.3

But I wrote Kanishan email and I just said something along the lines of like, hey, I have a

0:46.2

wild idea for you.

0:47.3

And I said at that point, we had paused on the Go and Talk Girls podcast for a really

0:52.6

extensive amount of time, been a minute. And we weren't putting out new episodes. And some of y'all, you may have heard

0:59.4

this in the relaunch, in the relaunch episode that we put out in April. But yeah, we had just

1:04.4

kind of paused on it. We were kind of feeling aimless, like not really sure what to do. And I just had this hunch. Like, I really need a co-host. And I wanted it

1:12.4

to be Kinesha. I had watched her have a few conversations with people on Instagram live. And so I was

1:17.2

like, hey, I think you are really gifted to asking good questions, asking the right questions.

1:21.4

You know, I have kind of wild ideal. Will you give this a shot with me. And because you're a good person, you said, not because you're a good

1:29.8

person, but because it was right for you also because good people say no all the time.

1:35.1

Yeah, for sure. I mean, I am a good person, but you are also a good person. But it's very good

1:42.0

to say no when you're supposed to say no. But you happen to say yes.

1:46.1

And so what followed is that we had, you know, nine months maybe of like really life-giving

1:52.7

conversations not only with one another, but with a lot of incredible guests. And with you guys,

1:58.9

we've gotten to have a conversation with you guys. But we had another
