Summary

As we wind down 2025 with this second of three solo episodes, I wanted to create a different kind of episode for you today: one that's a little shorter, a little sweeter, and completely focused on gratitude, reflection, and setting gentle intentions for the year ahead. Whether you're in your pajamas in that delicious vortex between Christmas and New Year's or you're out for a walk, I'm so glad you're here with me for this year-end reflection. It's like, oh, you want more, you want me to do more PTAs? Oh, you want me to do, yeah, oh, sure, yeah, I can figure that. I'll make it work, you know, that's how we are. So what boundary did I set or need to set that made life better?

And I wanted to do a shorter-ish episode today, really just expressing my gratitude for you, my Betty, whether you are a light roast Betty, you are a light roast betty, you are a dark

roast betty or you are somewhere in between. For you to come on this journey with me,

1:01.5

it is really, I do not take for granted one millisecond that you are spending your precious

1:07.6

time, energy focus with me. And so I wanted to start off by saying,

1:12.9

thank you. And I thought for today, we're going to make this a little short and a little sweet.

1:22.3

But I wanted to really talk about gratitude because I just expressed my gratitude to you.

1:26.8

But also, gratitude is not

1:29.6

pretending everything is fine, you know? And I strategically released this episode in the middle

1:37.3

of the holidays where things might not be fine. There may be some stressful family

1:43.0

situations, there may be some stressful business,

1:45.6

financial, you know, the world, who knows, right? So gratitude is not pretending everything is fine.

1:52.4

It's not like toxic positivity. It's not forcing yourself to look on the bright side when

1:57.2

something hurts. And it's definitely not a requirement to feel cheerful or happy either.

2:02.5

Gratitude is more like saying, okay, even here, even now, there were moments of support.

2:12.3

There were people who showed up. And maybe the only person was you. There was something steady. There was something

2:19.5

safe. There was a lesson that was meant for me. And maybe even there was a chance to start again,

2:25.7

you know? Sometimes gratitude is like huge, just life changing, life altering trajectories. And

2:31.9

sometimes it's like tiny, you know, it's a warm tea.

2:37.0

It's fresh, crisp, clean, cold sheets. It's a text message that arrives, you know, at the
