Chapter 3.

Still in verse number 7, instructions to husbands.

So I want you to just dig in with me to what God has to say to godly men who desire to love their wives well.

Let's get our minds aligned with the truth of God's word for this day.

I want to ask you to pray with me. Our father, we want to understand what

Peter is saying, and we're going to read a passage here that sometimes rubs people a little bit

wrong, but I believe that as we understand it rightly, we will see how beautiful it is. And what a

wonderful thing it is actually that Peter is saying to us. So we ask you to guide us.

1. Peter 3.7 is where we're going to be reading. It says, likewise husbands live with your wives

in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs

with you of the grace of life so that your prayers may not be hindered. Now, what we're going to focus in on

today is that phrase as the weaker vessel. Now, as I mentioned, in our culture, this phrase can, I don't know, ruffle some

feathers sometimes because it sounds to our Western way of thinking, if we're in the Western

world, like a demeaning phrase. And part of the trouble is that we use that word weaker in a variety of different ways.
