As well you should be and we also have the man of the hour, Ralph Nader.

Hello, everybody. This is a very, very interesting and novel show that we have today it's going to challenge our serious

listeners intellectual curiosity and civic interest you're not going to hear what you're going to hear now on many radio

programs around the country. It's on the government accountability office, the

arm of Congress that's the watchdog over the executive branch for the American people.

Exactly and apropos of that earlier this week President Trump unveiled his infrastructure plan.

And whenever I hear the word infrastructure in this context, the word infrastructure is always perceived by the word crumbling, our crumbling infrastructure.

But in order to repair roads, bridges and highways, the Congress needs to appropriate money.

On today's show, we are going to be talking to the person who knows all about those purse strings.

His name is Jean Daddaro, and he heads the U.S. Government Accountability Office,

as Ralph mentioned, otherwise known as the GAO.

And the GAO is an independent nonpartisan agency that works for Congress.

It's often called the congressional watchdog.

Essentially, the GAO investigates how the federal government, as Ralph mentioned, spends our taxpayer dollars.

Mr. Dodaro is going to give us the inside scoop about exactly the numbers are and a variety of issues.
