Summary

In this honest check-in, I share why I’m temporarily shifting from two episodes a week while juggling law school, newborn life, and midterms—and I re-air one of your most requested episodes: Rhythm over Routine. We close out the “How to Make Spirit-Led Business Decisions” mini-series with a practical framework for building a business in step with the Spirit, not driven by hustle or ego. If you’ve ever felt productive yet disconnected from God, this one will set you free.

What You’ll Learn

  • The difference between routine (checkbox faith) and rhythm (daily dependence)
  • Why “keeping in step with the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16–26) is a lifestyle, not a morning checklist
  • The 4-part framework: Abide → Align → Act → Assess
  • How digital distraction, time scarcity, and information overload sabotage intimacy with God—and what to do about it
  • Practical ways to reduce noise (limits, notifications, sacred windows) and protect your secret place
  • How to evaluate fruit and course-correct with grace (not performance)

Key Scriptures

  • Galatians 5:16–26 – Walk by the Spirit; fruit of the Spirit; keep in step
  • John 15:5 – Abiding in the Vine to bear fruit
  • Luke 10:38–42 – Martha vs. Mary (routine vs. rhythm)
  • Exodus 16 – Daily manna: dependence over hoarding
  • Mark 1:35; John 5:19 – Jesus’ pace and posture: presence over pressure

The Rhythm Framework (Quick Reference)

  • Abide: Guard intimacy with God; create sacred windows; reduce digital noise.
  • Align: Test ideas, opportunities, and pivots against Scripture, God’s character, and the peace of the Spirit.
  • Act: Move with faith and flexibility—be interruptible and obedient.
  • Assess: Measure fruit (Gal. 5:22–23), review outcomes with the Spirit, and course-correct as needed.

Practical Tips Mentioned

  • Put time limits on social apps; silence non-essential notifications.
  • Try an information fast (step back from extra voices/content).
  • Schedule sacred windows (daily/weekly) for prayer, stillness, and listening.
  • Run decisions through discernment filters: Scripture consistency, peace, timing, assignment fit.

Series Recap (Parts 1–3)

  • Part 1: Acts 8:26–40 — Strategic decisions led by the Holy Spirit
  • Part 2: Acts 13:1–4 — Worship, fasting, submission → divine clarity
  • Part 3: Acts 16:6–10 — Mobility and flexibility in Spirit-led pivots

Hey guys, welcome to another episode of the Blessed and Bostup podcast.

0:04.9

So if I could be honest with you guys a little bit before we hop into today's episode,

0:10.2

your girl's plate is beyond full at the moment.

0:13.7

Y'all know I started law school, not because I needed another trophy or because I wanted some more accomplishments.

0:20.6

But this was just something

0:22.0

that I believe that the Lord has led me to. And I've gotten so much confirmation on his journey so

0:27.2

far that I was accurate in my discernment of that. And I'm really excited about what the Lord is

0:33.7

going to do in this new chapter for me. And in addition to that, y'all know I just had another

0:38.0

baby in June. So it's been a lot of transitions happening. And with that, right now, I have not

0:45.2

been able to do the two podcast episodes a week. My plate is very full with school and home life.

0:51.9

And one has been somewhat reasonable, but right now I am

0:56.6

getting ready for midterm. So I've had two exams so far. I have one this week. I actually

1:03.0

have two this upcoming week and then one the following week. And then I get to breathe a little bit

1:07.7

until it's time to prepare for finals. And so I'm learning on the go

1:13.2

how to have harmony in this season. And a big part of that is just being honest about what I have

1:19.6

the capacity to do and what I don't. When I look at podcasts now, I'm like, man, folks got these

1:25.9

interview-based podcasts, these multiple host podcasts where you

1:29.6

just chopping it up with a friend or your interviewing guests. I have been on this show

1:34.9

solo dolo for years. It ain't nobody to lean on when I'm tired. It ain't no person to bounce ideas off of.

1:46.3

It is me in the Holy Spirit speaking every single week, preparing the notes, delivering

1:51.8

the message and all of that.

1:53.7

And I don't plan on changing that format.
