What happens in a religious, judgmental, self-righteous, legalistic culture, it encourages people

to be sneaky, to be covert.

Because if you step forward and say,'m struggling with this hammered they're going to pound you like a nail

If you are a person who is very judgmental, especially let's say even your own kids, they're

going to hide what they're doing from you.

If you have an environment of grace that is overt and not covert, it encourages people to come clean before they get caught.

I'm struggling with this.

This is a problem for me.

Because in a religious environment, there is not redemption, there is only punishment.
