Solomon closes the book of Ecclesiastes with these words. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.

You know, it is an amazing thing, what you can observe from a platform in an audience of people.

So many different types of people, of course, but that's not really what I'm referring to.

You can tell much about a person by their countenance. Your countenance is showing. Your face tells on you there are all kinds of expressions of course

you see some people who are just stern faced some people that have pleasant expressions that's always good

you see some people that are laughing and some people that seem disinterested it's amazing what you

can learn by looking at people's countenance.

And recently I was with someone and they seemed angry and upset about something.

And I asked them, is everything okay?

And they said, oh, yes, everything's great.

And I said, well, your expression seemed like it wasn't.

And they said, oh, that's just my resting face.

And I think all of us do have a resting face. Guard your countenance because it could be that

your resting face is not truly conveying what you're thinking and what's in your heart.

We come today to a verse that addresses the countenance in relationship to spiritual matters.

And I think this is so, so vital because there are two extremes.
