Next on in touch, your convictions about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The title of this message is the convictions we have about the crucifixion.

Now more than likely you have lots of convictions about a lot of things, but let me just say this to you.

If you don't get this right, you will not have any eternal life.

What do we mean by your convictions about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ?

So I want you to turn, if you will, to First Corinthians, chapter two.

The Apostle Paul had been beaten and jailed in Philip High,

and he'd been run out of Thessal of Nica and Beria

and some other places.

And Corinth was probably the most corrupt city of that day. And so when he went to current he made it very clear that he was not going to get in any discussions

about their philosophies and they believed a little bit of everything.

And he wanted to make it very clear that he was going to talk about one thing.

So if you will look at this second chapter beginning in verse one, he says,

and when I came to you brethren I did not come with

superiority of speech or of wisdom proclaiming to you the testimony of God but

I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and

him crucified.

I was with you in weakness, in fear, and much trembling.

And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration

of the spirit and of power so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men,

but on the power of Almighty God.
