Got the news of John Sterling's passing just a few minutes ago at the age of 87.

So we are celebrating the life and the broadcast career of one of the greats and someone that will be never forgotten as long as we live.

Because I can guarantee you that there is going to be in my

mind a Yankees win or a you know here comes the judge call or something that will be referenced

with friends of mine that are my age or older or even younger as he touched so many generations

with his incredible voice and his manner of play-by-play.

So we are going to, at some point, talk to Yankees Spanish language broadcaster, Ricky Ricardo,

who obviously knew John extremely well and also saved John when there was a flood.

If you remember that, a number of years ago, there was a flood,

and John got caught in his car, and Ricky Ricardo pulled him out of the car. And this is a true

story, unlike the Diana Rusini one. So Ricky was able to save John, and just amazing friendship

that those two had. So we'll talk to Ricky in a little bit.

Good morning, guys. I'm crying here. First of all, when you said that there was breaking news, someone passed away, I never

thought of him at all.

And then you said it.

And it was like, oh, wow, here come the tears.

I was telling Al, my little niece, she started to watch baseball with her dad.

And then she couldn't pay pay attention so we put the

radio on and she listened to john and she used to memorize and imitate all his calls she could never

say a stantonian blast she would would say a San Antonio blast.
