And there are three parts to it. The first part is skin to skin contact.

Your baby should be on your skin right after birth. And by right after birth, I mean that your

baby can come straight out of your vagina and right up onto your bare chest.

Now that may feel like a bit much for people, baby slippery and things like that. So your baby can be

gently dried off first with a blanket and then placed directly on your skin. And I'm not saying
