These so-called robocalls have become a real nuisance all across the United States.

This month alone, scammers will make, get this, two and a half billion robocalls.

Oh my gosh, it's crazy.

When you do the math, that's nearly 1,000 calls every single second.

The reason for the increase is pretty easy to understand.

Last year, Americans lost $9.5 billion to these scam calls. And the rest to consumers

is very real. By the end of this year, one in ten Americans will lose money to these con artists,

but in some cases, the damage can go well beyond, say, some simple financial losses.

It absolutely shut my life down.
