and today I'm joined by... I'm Phil Sim, a journalist based at the Scottish Parliament.

I'm David Wallace Locker, a political correspondent, normally based at the Scottish Parliament,

but currently in Selby, North Yorkshire.

Selby, now you're not there on your holidays, David.

Rather important thing happened there overnight.

It did, yes.

I mean, I did have a lovely evening at Selby Leisure Centre,

where the count for one of these three by-elections was going on.

No disrespect it did not feel like a holiday.

But yet quite a moment where Labour overturned a 20,000 plus Conservative majority to turn a safe Tory seat red.

So one of the three by-elections that was taking place in England last night and we are convening the pod-listical team in the middle of the summer holidays

is to bring everybody up to date with all of that.

And David, I just want to do a little coffee count because I woke up at about four in the morning this morning,

tuned into what was happening and then haven't been back to sleep since.

So if I had one coffee and one diet Coke, Phil, where are you at?

So I accidentally got up at 4 in the morning, thanks to the 10-week-old baby.

And we watched the breaking news alerts dropping in for the three results in a row, which was very good timing and then went back to sleep.
