And maybe it didn't turn out so well too. We don't get a lot of those, but maybe that's because my advice is just so darn good, Robert. Yep, dear Kelly, you are the love expert. I am. I'm writing to you about my father-in-law. For context, I'm a woman in my late 20s and have been married to my husband for about three years.

We've been together for almost 10 years total,

and my husband's father was very emotionally abusive,

and was a financial tyrant in my husband's childhood. This was partially due to a very nasty divorce taking place between him and my mother-in-law. He's still in my husband's life and has gotten admittedly nicer in his old age. However, the last two years he has suffered what we anticipate to be a series of many strokes. He is still mentally capable enough to have a conversation, get dressed, order food for himself, etc. Although having known him prior to this has declined enough to where we're all questioning his ability to take care of himself very well. He's always been a pack rat, but now we suspect it turning into hoarding. I say suspect because he will not let anyone in his house. He has not been able to drive for months.
