Hello to you all and welcome back to the morning mindset.

I'm so thankful you're here. The morning mindset just continues to grow.

The number of listeners every day is getting larger and

larger and I'm thankful that you're here. That's because I'm thankful that

you are doing something to strengthen yourself for this day.

This day is really all we've been promised, it's all that matters.

And we need to be doing our part every morning to get our minds right to get our minds aligned with the truth of God.

And I'm thankful you're doing that with me here at the morning mindset.

We are digging into Galatians chapter 5 today, the very beginning of the chapter.

And the apostle Paul has been on kind of a rant about the powerlessness of observing rules and regulations for pleasing God.

You see, our tendencies, human beings, is to work for the things that we receive to try to earn things.

And we especially feel that way it seems when it comes to our relationship with God.

We naturally and I think rightfully so want God to be happy with us.

We want him to be pleased with our lives, but sometimes we overthink it and because of our human tendency to try to earn things

think that we can earn God's favor and his pleasure. My friends is just not true.

Paul is spending this entire book of Galatians to make that point.

Now let's move ahead in chapter five.

We're going to hear what Paul has to say about it in a different sort of way today.

He says in verse number one, for freedom Christ has set us free.

Stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

So you see Paul is likening obedience and adherence to the law to slavery. He's saying the law is like a harsh master that has specific rules for you to

follow and when you submit yourself to it and try to earn God's favor by obeying the law, you are essentially putting yourself into a slavery that is subjecting yourself to all these rules. But Paul is saying that
