together once a year because everyone's remote. We have people as far away as Alaska, like very few people live or work in the

DC area for the Federalist. That's actually one of the things that makes us so awesome because

we are not beholden to the idiocy of the beltway or New York City.

I mean we have people, myself included in the beltway in New York City, but it's not like a majority of the staff or anything close to it.

But that also means we don't always know each other that well.

And so we get together once a year, and it was so much fun.

And one of the conversations we had there, I was talking about how much I love, love, our readers,

our listeners, our listeners, Federalist readers and listeners are just like some of my very favorite

people and that was going on about how nice and wonderful they are and you were you saying that

But... It is interesting that I like this retreat because I think most people think I'm crankier than I am probably

digitally. Would you agree with that? And when they meet me, I hope that they see that I'm not that, you know, that much of a crank.

There were many reasons why I loved the retreat, but I have to be honest that like just as much as I love
