We've got plenty to talk about this week, Molly. I think we should start right off the

0:25.0

bat with the 4 count 45 page indictment drop by Jack Smith on the former President and

0:30.6

leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Not shocking, right?

0:37.5

Well, yes and no. It actually, everything feels very surreal and shocking and then also

0:44.7

we expected this. But to see just how poorly written the indictment is is very surprising

0:52.2

to me. It's basically like a like even worse version of the J6 committee report and it's

1:00.8

as if they never spoke to a single person outside of an MSNBC audience or host. Like it

1:07.1

actually reads like if a particularly uninformed MSNBC viewer were to be given the powers of

1:14.3

a special prosecutor. Or what do you think? Did you? Did you find it to me? No. I don't know how to

1:22.8

frame. I have such a frame at this way. I think that people have a lot of trouble disconnecting

1:28.3

Donald Trump from their thinking. So when they're talking about this, these indictments,

1:32.3

for instance, they're like, oh my God, look how terrible Trump was. And honestly, I agree

1:36.4

with that. But there's these indictments are an attack on the first amendment as I see them.

1:41.7

I mean, everything is linked to speech and and and the ability of the government to

1:46.9

bore into the soul of Donald Trump and discern whether he believed what he was saying or didn't

1:53.6

believe what he was saying. And that is not the job of the state. This is a political

1:58.4

clearly to me, everything in this indictment that I read. I'm not a lawyer, but everything

2:02.2

seems to be a political issue. These are issues that you can impeach someone over or a voter

2:06.8

cannot vote for a person again or ever, but it is not it is not the kind of thing that

2:12.1

should be transposed into the legal realm. Yeah. I think it's I think it's worse than that.

2:16.5

I mean, the definitely attacks on the speech. One of the things is so interesting to me about

2:21.0

how the left has responded to all sorts of things in the last 10 years is to work to take
