We are kicking off a new series tonight on lyrics and lies, Anthem Edition.

What is Anthem?

It's basically we're going to look at different songs that were an anthem to the last 10 to 15 years.

They kind of marked an era, marked in age,

and were songs that we all know the beat to.

They were your old ring tone when you were in high school.

They may have been a song that came out

when you were in junior high or college, but they're songs that over the last 10 years have just kind of been at the forefront.

These were big, big hits, and we're going to cover a different topic each night and a few songs that connect to that.

Let me start this way with a little bit of a story to get us into.
