Summary

Lesley appeared on Debate Night last week. We look back at this, the issues that were raised by the audience, and the replies of the panel.
Here's the link to Lesley's justified rant over the energy rip off.

Kneecap have clarified their position and apologised to the families of David Amess and Jo Cox after the accusations made over statements made during gigs. John Swinney has called for the group to be removed from the TRNSMT line-up, echoing those made by Kemi Badenoch and others over Glastonbury. Is this furore simply, as Kneecap have claimed, a distraction from the real issue of Israel's actions in Gaza?
Meanwhile Louis Theroux has made a follow up documentary on the Israeli " settler" movement. We look at Daniella Weiss, the so called "Godmother" of the movement her actions ,the Zionist nationalist tradition she comes from, and the influence she has on the Israeli government.
We turn our attentions to three sets of elections. The result of the Canadian General Election,  the English local elections, and the Runcorn and Helsby by election.
There has been a landmark decision at appeal giving Poet's Neuk, a local community group, the right to buy privately owned land under a compulsory purchase order. It's taken nine years  after the passing of the 2016 Land Reform Act for this to happen for the first time. Will this set a precedent?
All of this plus gig reviews and TV recommendations.

Well, congratulations to Donald Trump. You've just managed to get your guy in Canada beaten in the recent elections.

And Mark Carney, the Liberal, has won on the coattails of your hostility to your neighbour.

We take a look at the election result and ponder if it means anything for Scotland or indeed for Kier Starrmer, who is cosying up to Trump rather than confronting

0:22.6

him as the Canadians have done. We look also at Neacap, the Irish band, and whether their

0:28.4

apology is enough, whether they're right when they say the establishment is combing through

0:33.8

all their lyrics to find ways to silence them over their views on Palestine and Gaza,

0:39.6

or whether they've just made a really bad move with those offensive anti-Tory MP lyrics they

0:46.5

came up with several years ago or all the above. Those are the headlines. Now for the podcast.

Hi, Choms and welcome to this very last edition of the Leslie Rooder podcast on Sky.

1:04.0

I'm an evil, an evil swine here, leaping in with that one. Yes, we will be switching away from Skype next week, which will be

1:12.1

in no interest whatsoever or have any impact on. It's switching away from everybody. It's not like

1:17.4

we've turned our back on it. It's just it's being subsumed into teams or something and that doesn't

1:23.6

work for us. So we'll be zooming, I think, instead then, will we? Oh, yes, yes.

1:28.3

A couple of zoomers here in the modern parlance.

1:31.3

He's quite right.

1:32.3

Yeah.

1:33.3

Did I say, speaking of zoomers, it was an interesting line-up I felt on BBC debate night this week

1:40.3

with Stephen Mountain, the Tory MSP, Torquo Crichton.

1:45.3

No, so stop.

1:46.5

It's Edward Mountain.

1:48.0

Edward.

1:48.4

Why did I put Stephen Mountain in it?
