A lot of the women that came through our support group were women who

had professional careers in law, social work, nursing, etc.

And some of them could never ever go back to work.

And when we started to talk to them about some of the ongoing issues. It was that they couldn't

remember things, they couldn't retain knowledge. They were getting frustrated with

themselves, but other people were getting frustrated.

That's Betty Taylor. She's the CEO of the Red Rose Foundation,

a not-for-profit organization in Brisbane

that works to address the high number of domestic violence related

homicides and suicides in the community.
