Today we're examining the state of the affordable sports sedan by digging into the

Acura Integra Type S.

Closely related to the Honda Civic Type R, the Integra Type S goes its own way by offering a more mature approach to performance.

It's also unique against its competition because it only comes with a manual transmission.

It follows the Classic Sport compact formula, a powerful

turbocharged four cylinder, front wheel drive, a manual transmission, and a chassis built to handle. Let's dig into this thing. You and I have both driven it extensively on a variety of

roads and it's really different feeling than the Civic Type

are on which is based and it's funny because when Acura came out in the mid-80s with cars like the

legend that was the first one and then they did the NSX it was more than just Honda Plus, right? You know, longitudinal front drive
