Summary
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
JOHN 10:11-15 - I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.

| 0:33.8 | believers in the armed forces to stand united in Christ as well. You can learn more about their |
| 0:38.8 | story and hear the Thundering Legion podcast by going to MorningMindsetMedia.com slash Thundering Legion. |
| 0:46.9 | And if you would like to have the opportunity to sponsor an episode of The Morning Mindset, |

| 0:58.1 | Okay, today we come to the book of John chapter 10 versus 11 through 15. I'm just going to read it. |
| 1:04.9 | We're going to dive right in and understand what Jesus is saying to us today. I am the good shepherd. |
| 1:12.7 | The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, |
| 1:20.0 | who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees and the wolf |
| 1:26.2 | snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. |
| 1:34.3 | I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me. Just as the Father knows me and I know |
| 1:42.5 | the Father and I lay down my life for the sheep. Now obviously in this little parable, this little |
| 1:50.8 | illustration Jesus is telling. He is foretelling his own crucifixion on behalf of sinners who will |
| 1:58.8 | place their faith in him. He's telling it before it happens. He's giving people kind of a glimpse |
| 2:05.2 | into the future of what's going to happen because he came for that very reason. But there are some |
| 2:10.8 | things in here that I want us to pick up on that if we read through it quickly as we just did, |
| 2:15.3 | we might miss. First of all, notice how Jesus identifies himself. I am the good shepherd. He's not |
| 2:23.0 | just saying I'm the shepherd. I'm the good shepherd. I am a good shepherd because I lay down my life |
